Tender Description: 

JSC Bank of Georgia is announcing an electronic tender for the procurement of a Backup Storage System. 

Object of the procurement: 

Backup Storage System that meets the technical requirements listed below. 

Technical requirements:

  • Total Raw Capacity: 1275 TB
  • Daily Change Rate: 5%

     

The vendor must provide: 

  • Detailed capacity sizing methodology
  • Effective capacity estimates after deduplication and compression
  • Data reduction expectations per data types provided in table above
  • Performance benchmarks for provided configurations 

Performance Requirements:

  • Minimum Restore Throughput: 5 GB/s sustained (physical speed)
  • Minimum Backup Throughput: 15 GB/s sustained (physical speed)

Architecture & Replication:

Must support two on-premises data centers with:

  • Replication between them
  • Deduplication-aware or Traffic-optimized replication methods Must support hybrid deployment to AWS, including:
  • Data residency controls and encryption for cloud-bound data
  • Traffic optimized replication to AWS instance

In the event of a failure at one data center, all backup data must remain fully accessible and restorable from the second data center, and the backup operations must continue from the second data center with equivalent performance and functionality.

The solution must ensure that failure of any single hardware component (e.g., power supply, controller, network interface card) does not disrupt backup operations on the corresponding site.

Integration Requirements: 

Must integrate with Veritas NetBackup, including:

  • OpenStorage (OST) protocol support

Protocol support:

  • NFS v3/v4
  • SMB 3.x – Nice to have
  • iSCSI
  • S3

Must support inline or post-process deduplication / compression. 

Immutable Backups and Security:

Must support immutable backups: 

  • Write Once Read Many (WORM) policies
  • Administrators lock and legal hold features
  • Ransomware Protection
  • Encryption
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Integration with identity providers (LDAP, AD, SSO)
  • Full audit logging of access and configuration changes 

Management & Monitoring:

  • Centralized management interface (GUI/API/CLI)
  • RESTful API access for automation and integration
  • Real-time monitoring and alerting capabilities
  • Log export to SIEM systems (Syslog or API)
  • Reporting for capacity, performance, and job history

Backup Software:

The solution should be fully compatible and officially supported by NetBackup.

Support & Services: 

The vendor must provide:

  • 24x7 support – 3 years
  • Access to firmware/patches

Instructions for tender participants:

  • "Applicants must upload all the documents requested by the tender into the system.
  •  Applicants must provide total price for Hardware and 3 Year Support. (The trade in auction will be with total prices of Hardware and support.)

Additional Information:

The bank is committed to reducing its environmental impact and ensuring the monitoring of environmental and sustainable development components.

The bank cooperates with suppliers who share the same standards, and whose policies and daily operations reflect actions aimed at minimizing hazardous waste, energy, water, and carbon dioxide, and they control these actions in their daily work. They must be able to provide documentation to confirm this.

In case of cooperation with the bank, the party declares that:

  • It will fully and properly comply with environmental protection requirements and local and/or international legislation, including the requirements set forth in the environmental impact assessment report or the conclusions of ecological expertise, and/or the conditions of permits or licenses.
  • It will ensure the collection, transportation, and processing of waste in accordance with the law.
  • In the event of any circumstance (including any type of accident, incident, and/or disaster) that poses a threat to environmental protection and/or the violation of local and/or international environmental protection legislation, the party must notify the bank within 5 (five) business days regarding the situation and the measures being taken to resolve the mentioned circumstances.
